Sports and Recreation
In the mood for edge-of-your-seat outdoor entertainment? Score tickets to a Norfolk Tides game or tee off at one of the city's golf courses such as Lambert's Point Golf Club, a beautiful link-style, nine-hole golf course located on the banks of the Elizabeth River. Head over to the 155-acre Norfolk Botanical Garden where you’ll find more than forty themed gardens. Spend the afternoon strolling through the garden, hop on a tram tour and take a sunset kayak tour on Lake Whitehurst.
With the Elizabeth River and the Chesapeake Bay running along its west and north borders, Norfolk is the ideal home for a Nauticus’ sailing school and its informative boating excursions. Sign up for a weekend course emphasizing on the water instruction and earn a US Sailing Basic Keelboat certification.
The Chesapeake Bay is home to a whole host of saltwater fish including trout, flounder, cobia, croaker, red drum and striper. Norfolk has two fishing piers – the Ocean View Fishing Pier & Willoughby Fishing Pier – both are open around the clock. So, drop your line in the water and see what’s biting!
