Norfolk VA (November 22, 2011) – The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) will recognize VisitNorfolk with a Bronze Adrian Award for public relations excellence for its winning entry in the 55th annual Adrian Awards, the largest and most prestigious travel marketing competition globally.
This year’s contest attracted nearly 1,000 entries from around the world, with entries judged by top executives from all sectors of the industry. On Feb. 27, 2012, HSMAI will pay tribute to VisitNorfolk during the annual HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala, a black-tie affair attended by more than 1,000 hospitality, travel and tourism marketing executives at the New York Marriott Marquis.
The award was presented to VisitNorfolk for its efforts to reposition Norfolk VA as a city with a diverse array of offerings, such as a thriving culinary scene and a charming downtown area. The campaign involved the development of an in-depth itinerary to showcase the city’s finest activities, cuisine and art, highlighting Norfolk VA as a value-driven seaport destination for visitors of all ages.
