Norfolk, Va. (March 8, 2010) – The Norfolk Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that Kristi Kennedy has been promoted to the position of director of convention and visitor services.

Kristi came to the NCVB in December of 2006 from the Norfolk Waterside Sheraton where she served as Catering and Convention Services Coordinator.  Prior to her employment at the Sheraton, Kennedy was a meeting planner for Celebrations by Lillian Vernon.

Anthony J. DiFilippo, president & CEO of the NCVB said, “It is always a pleasure to promote someone internally.  Kristi’s contributions to the NCVB over the years, her willingness to take on tasks over and above her job description and her efforts on continual learning as evidenced by her Certified Meeting Planner designation earned her this promotion.  We are confident the services team is in good hands with her at the helm.”

Kennedy completed internships at WAVY TV 10, Rising Tides Promotions and Festevents and has done volunteer work for the We Promise Foundation, Fairy Godmother’s Inc., and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital/Bruce Rader Golf Tournament.
