Norfolk, VA (January 9, 2013) – People in Norfolk know there is a world-class Zoo in town. So when calls came in to 911 about an escaped lion, it was no laughing matter. But soon, everyone was roaring.

The lion turned out to be an adorable 3-year-old labradoodle names Charles whose fur was cut to look like a lion in honor of the mascot of the Old Dominion Monarchs.The story was picked up across the state on the wires and even made national news on the Today Show.
