NORFOLK, Va. (December 19, 2007) — Melissa Hopper, Associate Director of Tour and Travel, Norfolk Convention and Visitors Bureau (NCVB), has been selected to serve on the 2008 National Tour Association (NTA) Leadership Team. NTA is the premier association for packaged travel and provides education, advocacy representation, and business opportunities to thousands of tour operators, hotels, restaurants, attractions, destination marketers and other worldwide travel industry professionals.
As a member of this team, Hopper will assist the NTA Board of Directors in the decision-making process by acting as the vital link between the general membership and the board. Hopper has been active with the NTA since assuming her present role at the NCVB five years ago.
“NTA always has been and continues to be a volunteer-driven association,” commented Anthony DiFilippo, NCVB President and CEO. “NTA is the premier trade association for the travel and tourism industry and we want to congratulate Melissa on being selected to contribute such a vital role in the development of its future programming.”
“NTA’s Leadership Team is fundamental in guiding the association along the best course for its membership,” said NTA Chairman and CEO Bob Hoelscher, CTP. “Melissa and the other members of the Leadership Team allow the association to fully utilize the tremendous wealth of talent available from its members. Through them, NTA can strengthen its position in the packaged travel industry.”
