The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) recognized VisitNorfolk with a Bronze Adrian Award for public relations excellence for its winning entry in the 55th annual Adrian Awards, the largest and most prestigious travel marketing competition globally.  The award was presented to VisitNorfolk for its efforts to reposition Norfolk as a city with a diverse array of offerings.  The campaign involved the development of an in-depth itinerary to showcase the city’s finest activities, cuisine and art, highlighting Norfolk VA as a value-driven seaport destination for visitors of all ages.

Packaged Traveler Insider magazine’s readers voted VisitNorfolk as the “Best Southern Convention & Visitors Bureau.”  Insider is a news and information resource for the packaged travel industry, group tour industry and general tours.  Their “Reader’s Choice Award” is awarded regionally.

VisitNorfolk was also honored with the 2011 ConventionSouth Readers’ Choice AwardConventionSouth is a national meetings publication focused exclusively on the South.  The Readers’ Choice Award Winners are nominated and voted on by meeting planners.  Out of the thousands of CVBs and meeting sites profiled yearly in ConventionSouth, a minimal number is nominated for this exclusive award.
