Join the Hermitage for its annual recital series featuring exceptional performances on the museum’s custom Steinway baby grand piano accompanied by vocalists and instrumentalists.

Enjoy the intimate setting of a recital in the Hermitage’s Great Hall and experience an elegant evening akin to what the Sloane family would have hosted decades ago.

Guests are invited to arrive early to browse the collection, mingle and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drinks available for purchase. The performance begins at 7 pm in the Great Hall and will include a 20-minute intermission. Doors open at 6:15 pm.

Join brilliant pianist and composer, Stephen Coxe, to celebrate the 100-year anniversaries of two beloved composers: Claude Debussy (died 1918) and Leonard Bernstein (born 1918). Highlights of the evening include such favorites as Bernstein’s “Four Anniversaries” (1948), Five Anniversaries (1949), and “Maria” (1957) and Debussy’s “Harmonie du Soir” (1904). Stephen will be joined by fellow musicians Kathryn Kelly, Marshall Severin, Patti Ferrell Carlson, and Jonathan Spence.
This evening’s complimentary hors d’oeuvre spread provided by Cuisine & Company.

Enjoy the sounds of Ismar Gomes, acclaimed cellist for the Virginia Symphony and Delaware Symphony orchestras, and Wan-Chi Su, internationally recognized pianist, as the duo performs an array of pieces that were popular when the Sloane Collection was taking shape. The program will include works by leading composers of the day such as Igor Stravinsky and Manuel de Falla, while also featuring a new work by Ying-Chen Kao, entitled “Falling Still” (2016). Mendelssohn's playful and joyous Sonata in D major (1843) will conclude the evening.
