THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 6-9 PM: EXHIBITION OPENING REDISCOVERING DOUGLAS VOLK: THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF AN AMERICAN PORTRAITIST

Join us for an exclusive first look of the Hermitage’s winter exhibit, Rediscovering Douglas Volk: The Life and Legacy of an American Portraitist. At 7pm Curator of Collections, Lindsay Neal will take guests through the exhibit galleries and share rare and unique details of the materials on display. Discover how Hermitage founders William and Florence Sloane befriended a highly respected artist of the early 20th century and formed a unique friendship that lasted over 20 years. View newly acquired artworks, a new display of paintings from the permanent collection, and experience the rare opportunity to see personal documents and letters from the Hermitage archives. Guests will enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, drinks available and instrumental music in the Great Hall. Artist Ken Garcia will be offering portraiture demonstration throughout the evening.
