The Chrysler’s spring keynote exhibition transports viewers to the exciting nightlife of belle epoque Paris. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was commissioned to produce lithograph posters promoting cafes, concerts, performers like Jane Avril, and everyday denizens. These works are on loan from the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The exhibition will be complemented by a selection of Japanese prints from the Chrysler Collection, providing context to show how access to new world views heavily inspired artists of the era, including Toulouse-Lautrec.
