Pushing Dragons: An Improvised Dungeons and Dragons Adventure

May 23 2026

10:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
The Push Comedy Theater 763 Granby Street Norfolk, VA 23510, Price: $16.00
Pushing Dragons: An Improvised Dungeons and Dragons Adventure
Enter a Realm of Adventure, Laughter, and Epic Chaos!

Pushing Dragons isn’t your typical game night. It’s a full-blown stage spectacle where improv comedy collides with Dungeons & Dragons. Armed with stripped-down 5th Edition rules, the heroes of Push Comedy Theater dive headfirst into a one-of-a-kind quest, guided by chance, wit, and the mighty roll of a giant 20-sided die.

You’ll see battles, spells, and shenanigans come to life right on stage (and sometimes in the audience). Best of all, you help shape the story, rolling dice that decide the fate of our adventurers… and maybe even joining them in the quest.

Whether you’re a seasoned dungeon crawler or have never touched a character sheet, this show is for you.

And don’t just watch… come in your best cosplay and become part of the fantasy world. Wizards, rogues, barbarians, or bards… all are welcome on this epic, unpredictable journey.

Pushing Dragons is one of the hottest shows at the Push.  Tickets are $15 in advance. Re-Roll Tokens are $10.

WHAT ARE PUSHING DRAGON RE-ROLL TOKENS? After an unfortunate TPK, we are introducing Re-Roll Tokens. For $10, you can purchase a re-roll token. This allows you to re-roll a die (for either the monster or player) during the show. Did your favorite character fail a saving throw or fail a crucial skill check? With a Pushing Dragons Re-Roll Token, you can change the course of the adventure.

Pushing Dragons Re-Roll Tokens can be purchased online as an add-on to your ticket purchase, or at the front desk when you check in. During the show, ask the Dungeon Master for a re-roll. The Dice Wenches will collect your token and hand you a die. Let fate do the rest!

Opening Reception "When There Are Nine" at the Offsite Gallery at MacArthur Center

May 8 - June 26 2026

10:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
Offsite Gallery at MacArthur Center 300 Monticello Ave Suite #287 Norfolk, VA 23510, dorothy.coakley@norfolk.gov Price: Free and open to the public.

Join Norfolk Arts for our last exhibition opening at our Offsite Gallery at MacArthur Center.

“When There Are Nine” brings together 19 dynamic women and women-identifying artists responding to the legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg through the powerful visual language of her iconic collars. For Ginsburg, the collar was far more than an accessory-it was a symbol, a signal, and a statement. Each jabot she wore communicated intent: dissent, agreement, celebration, resistance. Artists in this exhibition were invited to create a work of 2D or 3D art that reinterprets these collars as contemporary emblems of agency, identity, and the ongoing struggle for equity.
The exhibition’s title references Ginsburg’s famous response to the question, “When will there be enough women on the Supreme Court?” Her answer – “When there are nine”—has become a rallying cry for gender parity and representation. This exhibition expands on that statement, offering a space where creative voices reflect on the systems that shape women’s lives and the futures they are forging.

CHAOS! Comedy Show

May 16 2026

10:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
The Push Comedy Theater 763 Granby Street Norfolk, VA 23510, Price: $10.00
What’s better than comedy and chaos?

Most live entertainment asks you to sit quietly and politely clap at the end. CHAOS asks you to shout out an idea, sit back, and watch some of Push Comedy Theater’s funniest performers turn it into something wildly unexpected.

Every scene, character, and ridiculous twist is created completely on the spot… which means this show exists for one night only. No script. No reruns. No spoilers. It might be brilliant. It might get weird. It will definitely never happen the same way twice.

For $10, you could buy a mediocre cocktails…or you could witness live comedy that literally cannot be replicated. Your call.
