Juneteenth Parade

The Stop The Violence Team is organizing its third annual parade commemorating Juneteenth with community residents and a variety of parade participants. The parade will begin in Diggs Town neighborhood and terminate at the community event scheduled for that day at Richard A. Tucker Memorial Library. The Stop The Violence Team will provide Juneteenth T-shirts for parade participants and supporters and it will also provide commemorative flags, as well as breakfast sandwiches and refreshments a the community event.

The Southside Juneteenth celebration will commemorate the cultural significance of Juneteenth as it relates to Black American History. This will be a family-oriented event showcasing a parade, educational storytelling, historic displays, as well as musical and cultural performances.
