Explore a bustling market featuring 30 local artisan vendors, and enjoy delicious options from regional food trucks. The weekend will be packed with live entertainment, family activities, and interactive NBG education stations for all ages. Don’t miss spectacular live glassblowing demonstrations presented by the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio mobile hot shop. The festival opens at 10:00 AM each day.

Pushing Dragons: An Improvised Dungeons and Dragons Adventure

Pushing Dragons isn’t your typical game night. It’s a full-blown stage spectacle where improv comedy collides with Dungeons & Dragons. Armed with stripped-down 5th Edition rules, the heroes of Push Comedy Theater dive headfirst into a one-of-a-kind quest, guided by chance, wit, and the mighty roll of a giant 20-sided die.

You’ll see battles, spells, and shenanigans come to life right on stage (and sometimes in the audience). Best of all, you help shape the story, rolling dice that decide the fate of our adventurers… and maybe even joining them in the quest.

Whether you’re a seasoned dungeon crawler or have never touched a character sheet, this show is for you.

And don’t just watch… come in your best cosplay and become part of the fantasy world. Wizards, rogues, barbarians, or bards… all are welcome on this epic, unpredictable journey.

Pushing Dragons is one of the hottest shows at the Push. Tickets are $15 in advance. Re-Roll Tokens are $10.

WHAT ARE PUSHING DRAGON RE-ROLL TOKENS? After an unfortunate TPK, we are introducing Re-Roll Tokens. For $10, you can purchase a re-roll token. This allows you to re-roll a die (for either the monster or player) during the show. Did your favorite character fail a saving throw or fail a crucial skill check? With a Pushing Dragons Re-Roll Token, you can change the course of the adventure.

Pushing Dragons Re-Roll Tokens can be purchased online as an add-on to your ticket purchase, or at the front desk when you check in. During the show, ask the Dungeon Master for a re-roll. The Dice Wenches will collect your token and hand you a die. Let fate do the rest!

Step into the world of Happy As a Clam Love Hotline, a delightfully low-budget late-night cable access show broadcasting straight from the Ocean State. Armed with nothing but a shell phone, unwavering confidence, and questionable credentials, Toni & Gina are here to solve your love life—whether you asked for it or not. They’ll help callers (and maybe even you) navigate breakups, bad dates, suspicious partners, and every relationship disaster in between.

The evening blends live improvisation with scripted comedy sketches as Toni & Gina answer unexpected calls, dish out completely made-up relationship advice, and react in real time to whatever romantic disasters come their way. No two performances are ever the same because neither the hosts nor the audience know who’s calling next. Along the way, the audience gets pulled into the action with interactive segments, unexpected twists, and plenty of opportunities to help—or hinder—the hotline.

GirlProv is an all-female improv show that showcases some of the funniest women in the area. Our ladies take your one-word suggestions and stories, then weave them into a series of hilarious scenes right in front of your eyes. Imagine a sorority house party vibe combined with a girl’s night out on the town. That’s the kind of fun you’d find hanging out with these amazing women.

Girlprov is a fan-favorite show at The Push Comedy Theater and will leave you in stitches. So spend an evening with us, and celebrate women in comedy every first Friday of the month. Smash the patriarchy, and leave with a smile on your face afterward.

Our show consists of two halves with a (roughly) 10-minute intermission. That’s plenty of time to refresh your beverage and take a bathroom break. It’s also plenty of time for the occasional dance party that sometimes break out in the aisle.

In this special benefit concert, musicians of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra join acclaimed historian and narrator Clay Jenkinson for America Coming of Age-an evocative exploration of three extraordinary American voices: Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Henry David Thoreau.

The Muse Writers Center is Hampton Roads’ very own literary center, and since the early 2000s, we have grown into one of the top-10 writers centers nationally, with a vibrant space in central Ghent featuring five classrooms, a semi-private writers room, a recording studio, a library, and an auditorium for readings and special literary events.

Unlike a college or university, we offer creative writing classes and workshops for beginning, experienced, and professional writers.

The Muse believes in the transformative power of the literary arts with the aim to embrace both established and emerging writers as well as those who want to write but haven’t had the opportunity to be guided by great teachers. The-muse.org.

About TORCH
TORCH (Thanking our Resident Community Heroes) grew out of the COVID crisis when people were helping each other to survive financially in the midst of so many other challenges. From that experience, an idea was hatched to leverage donations during good times for a greater purpose. Founding member Tom Reel notes, “Instead of giving dollars to artists in need, we could hire them – and mount a benefit concert not for ourselves but for worthy and deserving local organizations outside of the performing arts community – organizations like The Muse Writers Center”

The Virginia Arts Festival and Virginia Symphony have partnered with the Musicians to turn a common business model on its head, raising awareness and money FOR the community and coming FROM the artists. The expectation is for TORCH’s unique and visionary musical flame to burn brightly for years and years to come!
