Established in 1997, Virginia Arts Festival brings world-class performing artists to venues throughout Norfolk and the region, from Grammy Award-winning musicians like Yo-Yo Ma, Renée Fleming, Wynton Marsalis, Béla Fleck, and Kristin Chenoweth to internationally renowned ballet and modern dance companies like American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and more—plus unique performances that can’t be seen anywhere else in the U.S., like the annual Virginia International Tattoo, an awe-inspiring celebration featuring hundreds of international performers including bands, bagpipers, drummers, dancers and more. Each spring, the Festival lights up Norfolk’s many stages with dozens of performances—the perfect accompaniment to your enjoyment of Norfolk’s beautiful waterfront, historic attractions and lively restaurant scene.
