June 2026 Events Guide

June is the month of all months in Norfolk for 2026. It’s when dozens of ships sail from across the globe to descend on Town Point Park for the 50th annual Harborfest celebration. What’s more, it’s also America’s 250th birthday, so Harborfest will also share the stage with Sail250® Virginia and Juneteenth, promising one amazing weekend of maritime and cultural history on our shores. There’s also baseball, concerts and general early summer fun to be had, so check out Mermaid City this month.

The Norfolk Tides, Triple-A affiliates of the Baltimore Orioles, take on the Memphis Redbirds June 9-14 and the Durham Bulls from June 23-28.

Sail250® Virginia

2026 marks the 250th anniversary of our nation’s birth in 1776 – The United States of America’s Semiquincentennial.  International tall ships and military vessels will sail into the port of Virginia as part of Sail2025® America.  More than 4,000 officers, cadets and crews of 55+ ships from 20 nations will engage in events along Virginia’s waterfront. The event will be held in the tradition of the past five iconic OpSail events in the Norfolk/Hampton Roads/Chesapeake Bay region since 1976, and the fleet will once again bring extraordinary experiences and opportunities to every corner of our communities.
