Elizabeth River Trail 715 Orapax St, Norfolk, VA 23507 ·, Price: FREE community event

Celebrate Trails Day 2026 is a FREE community event and day of service on the Elizabeth River Trail (ERT), our national recreation trail in Norfolk! Join us for games and activities with partners, and more!

Celebrate Trails Day is a national event from Rails To Trails Conservancy, which is celebrating its 40th birthday in 2026! The ERT started thanks to 1) community members and businesses who rallied behind the effort to create a trail that creates connections and increases accessibility in Norfolk, and 2) Norfolk Southern who donated the land from an old rail line which is now the section at Plum Point Park. It’s a great day to celebrate the Trail, get outside, have fun, and connect with your community!

Did you know the ERT Foundation non-profit relies on donors and sponsors to continue offering free events and programs along the Trail? Did you know the ERT also supports our local economy by generating $18.7 million in annual economic output to the City of Norfolk?

Invest in the future of the Elizabeth River Trail, support our city, and support free community events and programs by making a gift to the ERT today at: elizabethrivertrail-bloom.kindful.com/

See you on the Trail!
