There will be two workshops offered: Chess Foundations & Intermediate Chess Tactics

11AM: Chess Foundations
Embark on a strategic journey aboard the Battleship Wisconsin with our Chess Foundations Workshop featuring guest instructors from the Hampton Roads Chess Association! Designed for ages 7 and up, this 90-minute class is perfect for those who know the basics and want to elevate their game. Learn concepts like piece values, trades, calculations, and opening principles. Master basic checkmate patterns and dominate the chessboard. Join us for a unique and inspiring learning experience on the Battleship Wisconsin!

2PM: Intermediate Chess Tactics
Level up your chess game at our Intermediate Chess Tactics Workshop! In this dynamic 90-minute session, suitable for ages 7 and up, we’ll delve into advanced tactics, strategic planning, and sharpen decision-making skills on the chessboard. Featuring guest instructors from the Hampton Roads Chess Association, this workshop is designed to elevate your game. Whether you’re a budding enthusiast or a seasoned player, join us on the Battleship Wisconsin for a unique and enriching experience.
