To help maintain the integrity of our programs and keep the Almost Home Emergency Shelter operating without interruption, YWCA South Hampton Roads, in partnership with Life’s Journey, is hosting Neighbors of Hope, a community resource drive:
Friday, August 14, 2026 • 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
YWCA South Hampton Roads
1003 Norfolk Square • Norfolk, VA 23502
Part of being a good neighbor is showing up when someone is in need. We invite individuals, businesses, faith communities, civic organizations, schools, and community partners to help us stock the shelter with essential supplies.
Our most-needed items include cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, personal hygiene items, diapers and baby supplies, back-to-school supplies, new bedding, non-perishable food, and gift cards for groceries, gas, and other essential needs. No item or donation is too small.
We are also requesting Survivor Safety items, including Tracfones, Net10 service cards and personal safety alarms, as well as Transportation assistance through bus passes, gas cards, Lyft/Uber gift cards and gas gift cards.
Can’t Attend? You Can Still Help.
Financial contributions are also welcome and can help us respond to immediate shelter needs. Donations may be made online at: http://www.ywca-shr.org/donate
