Selden Market, a cornerstone of Downtown Norfolk’s economic and creative ecosystem, will celebrate its grand re-opening with a two-day community event on Friday, February 6, and Saturday, February 7, 2026, marking the completion of extensive building renovations and the launch of new initiatives designed to further support emerging businesses and creatives.
Renovations include new exterior and interior signage, custom-built vendor booth setups for pop-up businesses, an expanded community kitchen, and updated restrooms. Additionally, the refreshed space ensures a more welcoming atmosphere that better supports community events and a rotating lineup of the city’s up-and-coming retail and food concepts.
The grand re-opening weekend reflects Selden Market’s dual mission: supporting street-level retail and creative entrepreneurs, while providing an inviting space in the heart of Downtown Norfolk, for the community and visitors to gather. New initiatives launching this year include creative co-working opportunities, expanded partnerships with community organizers, panels, pop-up memberships, and collaborative programming.
Friday, February 6, 2026 | 5:00–9:00 PM — Ribbon cutting, dedication, and toast at 5:00 PM, followed by live music from local DJs RYLO, STARTT, and DURAG DAF.
Saturday, February 7, 2026 | 12:00–4:00 PM — Live music and open mic by FORTRESSES, featuring Artel Carter.
Throughout the weekend, guests can expect food specials, drinks and cocktails, workshops, pop-up vendors, and community programming. Both days will include activations and opportunities to engage with Selden Market businesses, creatives, and organizers.
Community members, local leaders, and media are encouraged to attend and celebrate this next chapter for Selden Market.
Several new businesses recently welcomed to the Market — including Avocargo, Model Citizen, Juniper & Jam, Made in Norfolk, Edgewood Outfitter, and Joe’s Tortured Soul— will be open alongside the full lineup of Selden Market shops, throughout the grand re-opening weekend.
