Being On The Water

Trailside Headquarters Grand Opening & Celebrate Trails Day

April 25 2026

10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Elizabeth River Trail TBD, Price: This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
This year’s Celebrate Trails Day will be extra special for the Elizabeth River Trail!
For the first time ever, we are opening the doors to our brand-new Trailside Headquarters and you’re invited to help us celebrate this exciting new chapter.
Our Trailside HQ for the Elizabeth River Trail Foundation represents years of community support, growth, and momentum. It gives our designated National Recreation Trail a permanent home right along the path it serves, and creates a space where programs, partnerships, and community connections can continue to grow.
Join us for a Grand Opening celebration featuring:
✨A first look inside the new Trailside HQ!
✨Family-friendly programming and activities for all ages
✨Freebies, giveaways, and opportunities to support the trail through ERT-branded merchandise, becoming a Trailblazer donor, and more!
✨Information about how to connect with us and support the trail you love
As an added bonus, this celebration takes place on Celebrate Trails Day, a nationwide event led by Rails to Trails Conservancy. It’s a day dedicated to getting outside, connecting with your community, and celebrating the power of trails to bring people together.
The Elizabeth River Trail exists because of our incredible neighbors, businesses, and supporters who believed in creating something lasting for Norfolk.
This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required, just show up and be ready to have a great time celebrating this momentous occasion with our non-profit foundation.
