Award Recipient
Mark Perryman, Chief Executive officer, Norfolk Airport Authority Board of Commissioners
Mark Perryman was selected by the Norfolk Airport Authority’s Board of Commissioners to serve as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Authority effective May 1, 2022, where he oversees the operations and development of Norfolk International Airport. Prior to Mark joining the Norfolk Airport Authority, he served as President and CEO of Landrum & Brown, Incorporated. He retired from L&B after being with the firm for over 31 years.
Before being promoted to CEO, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer and was previously the leader of the Environmental Practice of the company. During his 14-year tenure as COO, Mark oversaw the global business operations of the firm with a focus on serving clients within the Americas and the Middle East. He has nearly 40 years of airport planning and development experience including leading master plans, terminal plans, strategic plans, environmental assessments and impact statements, land use plans, and noise compatibility studies for airports and military installations around the world.
Mark has been an active member of the American Association of Airport Executives and Airports Council International as well as the Airports Consultants Council since the early 1990’s. Mark is also an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects. Mark is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a Base Community Planner and Architect and holds a Bachelor of Science in Design from the Arizona State University. He resides in Norfolk with his wife Marcella.

Adam Sacks is the President of Tourism Economics; an Oxford Economics company dedicated to unlocking the power of economics for the travel sector. For more than 25 years, Adam has worked with destinations, industry associations, and companies around the world in the areas of policy analysis, market assessments, and economic impact.
Adam’s work has provided the foundation for billions of dollars in capital investment decisions by hotel companies, developers, and investors. Adam also manages the ongoing production of travel forecasts that have consistently guided the travel industry through uncertain times.
He is an authority on measuring the economic impact of visitor activity and his work regularly informs national and local government policy. Adam is a frequent presenter at conferences (where he will occasionally play guitar) and is a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Travel & Tourism Advisory Board.
