Welcome to the Norfolk, VA Regional Walk Team!
We’re coming together for the 2025 Virtual Appendix Cancer Walk to raise awareness and funds for appendix cancer and PMP research. This year, our community in Norfolk, VA is hosting an in-person walk to bring people together in support of this important cause.
Location: Elizabeth River Trail – Starting behind Larchmont Library (We will walk a 5K from Larchmont Library to the Hermitage Museum and back on the Elizabeth River Trail – approximately 3.1 miles).
Date: Saturday, June 7th, 2025
Time: 9:30 am check-in/Walk starts at 10 am
Look for the yard sign & balloons pointing to the table behind Larchmont Library – there will be snacks, water, and swag bags before we start walking at 10!
Parking: There is parking available at Larchmont Library (library is closed) and street parking in the neighborhood. There are also public restrooms at the Hermitage.
Why Walk With Us?
Appendix cancer and PMP are rare diseases, affecting approximately 2-9 people per million per year. Cases are rising, especially among younger adults, yet awareness remains low. Many patients face late or incorrect diagnoses, making research and education critical.
By joining our team or making a donation, you are helping to fund life-changing research, provide vital support to patients and families, and raise awareness. Our walk is a powerful way to show that no one fights this disease alone.
