At the Park Before Dark, is an event curated for Norfolk, exposing opera to the BIPOC community with local BIPOC singers.
Opera For Us will be incorporating live collaboration with the attending audience by sharing a couple of life experiences and putting that to opera and art song. This program will integrate other performing arts mediums with dance, spoken word, and other styles of singing.
This is free and open to the public, highly encouraging everyone to bring lawn chairs. Their goal with this program is to not only educate and expose opera to the community but make opera accessible by collaborating with the community, and in turn continuing the support of opera and classical vocal music as a whole, while amplifying voices of color to people of color.
