This year, the National Brewers Association chose the theme “Phones down, Beers up” to remind us that beer brings us together for real, meaningful moments and connections.
Imagine our surprise when Norfolk Unplugged reached out about hosting a meet up here, ALSO promoting getting away from screens and back to human connection.
It was meant to be!
Join us this National Beer Day to celebrate beer and the ways it connects us. Phones down. Beers up.
Drink, unplug, and socialize at Yappy Hour on April 7th from 4-7PM.
Join @nfkunplugged from 6-8pm. Meet new people, learn more about the club, and enjoy the drink that brings us all together: beer!

Virginia Leather Pre-Party Cigar Social

Kick off Virginia Leather Weekend with The Virginia Boys of Leather at our Cigar Social Pre-Party!
Join us at Maker’s Craft Brewing on April 11 from 2:30–4:30 PM for cigars, drinks, and community as we prepare for the Virginia Leather Contest. Whether you’re an aficionado or just looking to unwind, this is the perfect way to start the festivities.
We’ll have a reserved cigar lounge section, while the rest of the space is open for mingling. Don’t have a cigar? No problem—there’s a cigar shop onsite so you can grab one and join in.
We’ll collect donations at the door and sell raffle tickets throughout the event to support the LGBT Life Center and the contest winners’ travel fund. Raffle prizes include gift baskets with cigars and bourbon, bootblacking supplies, and two VIP tickets to the contest.
Raise a glass, light up, and support a great cause while celebrating leather, community, and connection. We look forward to seeing you there!

Starting from our yard, run 4 laps, drinks 4 beers!
Starting point is in our gravel area, and track goes down Rugby street, turn on Gazel and then back up on 23rd!
Tickets include a spot in the race!
Food truck of the day is Rosa’s Lumpia and Pancit!

Step into an evening where movement meets magic and strength is cultivated with intention. Train Like a Fantasy Hero is a four-part yoga series designed to feel immersive, grounding, and quietly transformative, where wellness and storytelling intertwine in a beautifully curated setting.
Hosted at Maker’s Craft Brewery and led by Free Bird Mind & Body, each class invites you to breathe deeply, move with purpose, and reconnect with your strength in a welcoming, elevated atmosphere. Enjoy thoughtfully curated appearances from local storytellers and bookish vendors, then linger, sip, and connect after class.

All classes are designed for all levels and abilities, with modifications and optional challenges offered throughout.
Please bring your own mat, as only a limited number will be available to borrow. Classes may take place outdoors, so consider bringing a towel to place under your mat.
