The Larchmont neighborhood, surrounding a triangular green space and bordered by the Lafayette River, was developed in 1906 by the firm Bellamy and Hough. Located five miles from downtown Norfolk, it was considered “country” by the locals, which inspired the developing firm to create its own bus line, called the Larchmont Transit Company. This allowed residents to enjoy a neighborhood with spacious, elegant homes; expansive, bucolic gardens; and life on the river. Today, this neighborhood is known for its beautifully maintained and restored 100-year-old homes, as well as outdoor spaces that make residents proud to call this place home.

EARTH'S GREATEST ENEMY Norfolk Premiere

March 11 2026

6:30 p.m.
Naro Expanded Cinema 1507 Colley Ave, Norfolk, VA 23517, Price: $11.00 - $16.50

Join us for the premiere of Abby Martin’s new documentary film on the environmental impact of the US military!

Earth’s Greatest Enemy is the second documentary from journalist Abby Martin that uncovers a shocking blind spot in the climate conversation: the U.S. military.

Exempt from international climate agreements and rarely scrutinized in mainstream reporting, the Pentagon is revealed here as the world’s single largest institutional polluter—spewing carbon, contaminating water, and scarring landscapes across the globe. Combining investigative journalism, striking visuals, and stories from impacted communities, the film challenges audiences to rethink the hidden costs of a global military empire and its planetary consequences. Provocative, urgent, and eye-opening, this is a documentary that will change how you see both the military and environmentalism.

Video message from Director Abby Martin following the film

Our micro-gatherings are intended to be for 6 people or less. Check out our feature in Eventbrite’s 2025 TRNDS report about embracing the micro-event trend.

This is not directly associated with the restaurant of the week, but rather based on a table reservation via Opentable or Resy or other online platforms. The pin 📌 on the map on Eventbrite is just a placeholder since the reservation we make ultimately depends on overall headcount closer to the date, and per the dietary preferences of the registrants based on our questionnaire. Restaurants are shared with registrants only. Feel free to contact us with questions prior to signing up.

*Your registration does not include your individual food and drink purchases. It ensures you commit to actually showing up, and it helps our team’s endeavors.

Our vision is simple: we take the no gimmicks approach to networking. No need for yet another app to take up space on your phone – just four walls and a roof and good food for people to connect 🙂 We coordinate with you directly, human-to-human. 🤖
