Meet in the WOW Children’s Garden to complete a walking adventure and crafts themed around some of our favorite garden storybooks. Recommended for ages 3+ with some chaperone assistance. This is an NBG Member exclusive program that requires pre-registered tickets.
Join NBG Youth Education staff for our new and improved Junior Master Gardener (JMG) program! JMG is an innovative 4-H gardening program for children and families. JMG engages children and their chaperones in “hands-on” group and individual learning experiences that promote a love of gardening, develop an appreciation for the environment, and cultivate the mind. Recommended for children ages 3-6 with significant chaperone assistance. All attending adults and children are required to have a registered ticket.
Did you know you can make new paper from recycled paper? After making your own sheets of paper, use the leftover materials to learn how to make a recycled paper seed bomb. Recommended for children ages 5-10 with some chaperone assistance. All attending adults and children are required to have a registered ticket.
Take a trip to the Perennial Garden to practice painting flowers and landscapes with watercolor paints. Recommended for children ages 5-10 with some chaperone assistance. All attending adults and children are required to have a registered ticket.
Join us for a leisurely Sunday bike ride through Norfolk.
The group ride will begin at 3 PM from Afterglow Brewing. The ride uses the ERT and Norfolk bike lanes and should take approximately one (1) hour. We’ll return for a post-ride cool down! All skill levels are welcome!

Join every Saturday, weather permitting, for the LIVE.LIFE.FRESH • Boom Box Bike Ride. Meet us at the MacArthur Mall Green Space, at the intersection of Freemason St. and Monticello Ave. at 10 AM. We’ll ride out at 10:30 AM for our casual cruise around Norfolk, Virginia via bike lanes and the Elizabeth River Trail.
This ride is led by Freshtopia, so please follow them for any last-minute weather changes or updates. This ride is family-friendly and a great way to feel comfortable navigating the trail and the bike lanes with a great group of riders!
