Who says you can’t have fun on a Thursday?
With 100% REAL stories and 100% REAL made-up comedy and songs, Sounds Made Up is ready to get your weekend started sooner with some outrageous MUSICAL improv! A blend of Chicago and New York influences, Sounds Made Up is a musical improv show form called The Musical Armando and features a special guest storyteller or monologist whose only rule is that they have to tell TRUE stories about their life! As clever as they are dashing, our brilliant cast will use those stories as inspiration to perform a musical improv show that’ll tickle your funny bone AND your eardrums!

Our special guest this month is Donna Lewis!

Donna Lewis is a stand-up comedian, sketch and improv performer based out of Hampton, Virginia. She performs at various clubs locally and regionally such as the Funnybone, Cozzy’s Comedy Club and for corporate and private events. She’s opened for comedy legend Marsha Warfield, Maria Bamford and Michael Ian Black. She’s performed in LA, Atlanta, Boston and NYC at well-known comedy clubs. She’s been seen at comedy festivals across the US and Canada and also performs sketch and improv comedy with the group she founded in 2018 called Lemon Pepper and Sazón Comedy. Additionally, she created Diversity efforts at the Push Comedy Theater which is her home improv and sketch theater in Norfolk, Virginia. She created the Push Diversity Council, Diversity Scholarship and produces monthly Diversity Jams which highlight underrepresented groups with shows such as: AAPI Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, 40+ Show, Veterans, Pride, Juneteenth, etc.

Join Norfolk Tour Company and Elizabeth River Trail for this FREE and special walking tour of historic Fort Norfolk!
Fort Norfolk is a historic fort and national historic district dating back to the founding of our country. It is the last remaining fortification of President George Washington’s 18th century harbor defenses, later termed the first system of US fortifications — and it’s right on the Elizabeth River Trail! Some of the buildings in the fort date back to the 1790s.
Fort Norfolk is a federal property located next to the Army Corps of Engineers, which manages the fort. *Important* All tour attendees will need to provide photo identification in order to access the fort. This is a federal requirement.
The tour is in partnership with the ERT Foundation, and will last approximately an hour and 15 minutes. No registration required, just show up at the entrance of Fort Norfolk!

MyActiveChild.com CONNECTIONS is a new series of parent & child events coordinated with local businesses throughout Hampton Roads. These events will have activities for the kids but there will be a focus on CONNECTING with other parents. Parenting can be lonely, and it can be a process to find friends in the same stage of life. This ongoing event series is designed to make that process easier with parent-friendly playgroups.
