Tales from the Grip

November 1 2025

8:00 p.m - 12:00 a.m
Smartmouth Brewing 1309 Raleigh Ave, Norfolk, VA 23507 Price: Prices May Vary

We’re shutting down the street and turning the cul-de-sac into a full-blown pop-up skate park. Grip tape, concrete, and cold beer collide for one loud, loose night at Smartmouth. Catch live sets from Tomi, Baby Oil, and Chef Dro while skaters shred the pavement just steps from the taps.   Bring your crew, grab a pint, and get ready to roll.  Ticketed event.  All ages.  All are welcome.

Dropkick Murphys @ The NorVa

March 10 2026

8:00 p.m - 12:00 a.m
The NorVA 317 Monticello Ave, Norfolk, VA 23510 Price: Prices May Vary

Dropkick Murphys proudly remain Boston’s rock ‘n’ roll underdogs turned champions. Since 1996, the boys have created the kind of music that’s meant to be chanted at last call, in packed arenas, and during the fourth quarter, third period, or ninth inning of a comeback rally. Their celebrated discography includes four consecutive Billboard top 10 album debuts (2021’s Turn Up That Dial, 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory, Signed and Sealed in Blood, Going Out In Style), along with 2005’s gold-selling The Warrior’s Code featuring the near double platinum classic “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.” Whether you caught a legendary gig at The Rathskeller (The Rat) under Kenmore Square, found the band by taking the T to Newbury Comics to cop Do Or Die in ’98, discovered them in Martin Scorsese’s Academy Awardwinning The Departed, or saw ‘em throw down at Coachella (or one of hundreds of other festivals), you’ve become a part of their extended family. Dropkick Murphys’ music has generated half-a-billion streams, they’ve quietly moved 8 million-plus units worldwide and the band has sold out gigs on multiple continents. In 2020, the band was one of the first to embrace streaming performances, starting with their Streaming Up From Boston St. Patrick’s Day virtual performance. It was followed by last year’s landmark Streaming Outta Fenway livestream, which drew more than 5.9 million viewers and held the #3 spot on Pollstar’s “Top 2020 Livestreams” chart. Dropkick Murphys St. Patrick’s Day Stream 2021…Still Locked Down, was #1 on Pollstar’s Livestream chart for the week ending March 22, 2021, logging over 1 million views. Dropkick Murphys return September 30 with their first-ever all-acoustic album, This Machine Still Kills Fascists (Dummy Luck Music / [PIAS]), followed by their first-ever seated theater tour kicking off in late October. This Machine Still Kills Fascists breathes musical life into mostly unpublished lyrics by the legendary Woody Guthrie, curated for the band by Woody’s daughter Nora Guthrie.

Peaches @ The NorVa

February 25 2026

8:00 p.m - 12:00 a.m
The NorVA 317 Monticello Ave, Norfolk, VA 23510 Price: Prices May Vary

Peaches has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 from every ticket sold goes to support the Trans Justice Funding Project and their work funding trans-led grassroots organizations in the US and US Territories who exist to serve and improve the lives of their local and national trans, gender non-conforming and non-binary communities.

Iconic musician, producer, director, and performance artist, Peaches first catapulted to stardom with her 2000 debut, The Teaches of Peaches, which introduced the world to her sexually transgressive, fiercely assertive, and utterly captivating persona. Since then, Peaches has released four more trailblazing albums, won the prestigious Polaris Heritage Prize, collaborated with everyone from Iggy Pop and Daft Punk to Christina Aguilera and Yoko Ono, landed songs in cultural watermarks like Lost in Translation and The Handmaid’s Tale, and seen her work studied at universities around the world.

In addition to her musical output, Peaches has directed over 20 videos, co-curated a photo book of her life, created a host of immersive installations and performative works, and penned the electro-rock opera Peaches Does Herself, which was adapted into a film shown at over 70 festivals. The subject of two acclaimed documentaries, Peaches has also played the title role in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo and Brecht’s The Seven Deadly Sins and continues to perform her widely lauded one-woman show, Peaches Christ Superstar.

Peaches’ first album in 10+ years entitled No Lube So Rude is set for release in 2026. Peaches says of the new music “When the world is friction, lube isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity. It’s how you turn that friction into pleasure, into power, into pride. I want people to understand that they can still have a voice no matter who they are or what the world says about them. Now more than ever, there are so many forces that just want you to give up and be quiet. If this album can help you resist that, then that’s what it’s for.”
