Docent-Led Museum Tour @ The Hermitage Museum & Gardens

The Hermitage Museum & Gardens 7637 North Shore Road Norfolk, VA 23505 Price: $15 Non-Members / $12 Members / $5 Children (Under 10 years old)

Groups may tour the first floor of the museum with a knowledgeable docent, learning about the museum architecture, history, the Sloane family, and the permanent collection which spans over 5,500 years. Highlights of the docent-led tour include behind-the-scenes details, hidden throughout! To ensure the best tour experience, groups of more than 15 will be split up and led by separate guides. Tour groups are limited to 30 visitors. This tour focuses on the permanent collection and does not include current special exhibitions.

Unless otherwise noted, tours begin at 11:30am and last 1-1.5 hours.

Remarkable Trees of the Hermitage

The Goode Family Visual Arts School 7701 N Shore Rd, Norfolk, VA 23505 Price: $10 Members / $15 Non-Members

Originally designed in the 1920s by Florence Sloane, the gardens of the Hermitage feature trees that have been growing for nearly a century. Some of the oldest and most notable trees include our magnificent Live Oaks and the iconic Southern Magnolia on the back lawn, which dates back to the early 1940s.

Don’t miss this opportunity to view these historical trees amid their vibrant fall transition. Experience the unique remarkable trees during this guided walking tour hosted by Phillip Riske, Curator of Gardens and Grounds.

Discover the fascinating history and uses of the Osage orange tree in this special Garden Program at The Hermitage Museum & Gardens. Nancy Ross Hugo will explore its unique fruit, valuable wood, and cultural roots—highlighting how, by the mid-1800s, it became the most planted tree in North America.

The d’Art Center has partnered with The Norfolk Town Point Club for a Night of the Arts – a special fundraising event! Each year, Invited Clubs hosts a signature Charity Classic event to raise money in partnership with local nonprofits. This exclusive evening will celebrate the power of visual, musical, and performing arts in one collaborative event! Guests will enjoy an elegant atmosphere and captivating performances in support of Norfolk’s cornerstone cultural institutions while savoring heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar!

Early Bird Tickets are $55 and on sale through September 30th.

In Advance Tickets are $60 and are on sale October 1st – November 9th.

Tickets available at the door for $65

Charity Classic events also supports Invited Clubs employees facing financial hardships, underserved youth, and military veterans, while expanding the scholarship program.

Charity Classic events welcome Club Members, members of the general public, and the non-profit’s partners and donors to bring awareness and raise funding.
