Village Family is a grassroots nonprofit serving Hampton Roads through food distribution, outreach referrals, family support, and community-centered programs that help children, seniors, and families facing hardship. At Village Family, we believe love is the most powerful form of leadership, and our Village of Love movement brings together neighbors, volunteers, businesses, and community partners to restore hope, meet basic needs, and strengthen the community.
What began with one act of giving has grown into a lifeline for thousands of individuals and families in need. Through our Community Family Reunion™ and SAFE Initiative-Safe, Active, Fed, and Educated, we transform donated pantry space at First Calvary Baptist Church, 813 Henry Street in Norfolk, into a vibrant hub of care, compassion, and connection. There, families can access food, essential items, resource information, and uplifting experiences that remind them they are not alone.
Village Family’s work is rooted in the values our ancestors taught us: unity, sacrifice, kindness, service, and commitment to one another. We believe no neighbor should be left behind.
When you partner with or invest in Village Family, you are doing more than supporting meals or events. You are helping fuel transformation. Your support strengthens our capacity through staff, space, and services, while creating measurable community impact, food on tables, smiles on faces, and hope in hearts. Every volunteer hour, every donation, and every partnership helps us continue the work our ancestors started through love and the gift of giving.
It still takes a Village.
