Join Norfolk Tour Company on this FREE walking tour of Granby Street in Downtown Norfolk! Granby Street has been the historic core of downtown and its commercial center for more than two centuries. Tour guide Joshua Weinstein will focus on Granby’s evolution from a strip of tenement housing and merchant shops to the bustling district amid the industrial revolution of the 19th-century, its disrepair in the mid-20th century, the pedestrian mall era of the 1980s, and finally to Granby’s role in revitalizing downtown in the decades since.
The tour will begin at the corner of Main and Granby Streets near the Hilton Norfolk The Main and Saltine entrance and walk through downtown for around one hour.
