When the Sun goes down on our side of town, the Virginia Zoo hosts ZooGrooves: ‘90s Country Edition! 🤠 Saddle up for a wild ride down memory lane at this all-ages, outdoor, concert-style event. 🐎 We’ll have boot scootin’ tunes from the Nashville Nights Band 🎶, the chance to say “howdy” to animal ambassadors, an opportunity to test your balance on the wildest mechanical bull, and much more! ℧ Break out your finest cowboy boots, flannels and denim, and corral your friends to join you.

If this is your first time at the rodeo, know that our events are held rain or shine! Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax in the Event Field while listening to top ‘90s country hits.

Co-presented with Virginia Symphony Orchestra and Virginia Arts Festival. Happy Birthday, Hailstork! And welcome back, JoAnn Falletta! Virginia Arts Festival and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the music of one of Hampton Roads’ finest artists, composer Adolphus Hailstork, in an 85th birthday celebration featuring works including An American Port of Call, First Piano Concerto, and Done Made My Vow. To make this special evening even more spectacular, the Orchestra’s Connie and Marc Jacobson Music Director Laureate and Grammy Award winner JoAnn Falletta returns for one night only to conduct a performance that includes pianist Stewart Goodyear and the acclaimed Norfolk State University Chorus.

With more than 200 million internet views and performances around the world, guitarist Luca Stricagnoli has created a niche for an entirely unique style of performance. It’s a remarkable story: as a boy studying classical guitar, he excelled in classical composition, placing first in international competitions—but when he discovered fingerstyle guitar on Youtube, a lifelong fascination and creative career was born. Fingerstyle guitar has a long history, involving playing by plucking with the fingers instead of using a pick, but Stricagnoli takes the technique to new levels, even inventing new styles of guitars to create his endlessly inventive sounds. Along the way, this guitarist rooted in classical music has drawn the attention of such rock artists as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica and more, and won the regard of critics who praise his “mindblowing” artistry (Guitar World).

Calling all wildlife yogis! Instead of getting down with the dogs, we are catching some zen with the giraffes! Class is open to everyBODY and there’s plenty of space for all your animal loving friends! We will move through an all levels flow right by the giraffe pavilion – which means you are going to need to plan accordingly to be able to park + make it over to the giraffe exhibit. We ask that you arrive by 8:30A and we will flow from 8:45-9:30A. After class take time to explore the NFK Zoo and go show some of the other animals some love! We have space if it rains – so don’t let Mother Nature scare you away! And we will be spreading the love off the mat as we donate a portion of the proceeds to the zoo to help bring zen to the animals too! All bookings are though Sky’s The Limit Yoga Co (not the Zoo). Coffee + Yoga is how STL started, and we are continuing to join forces with coffee shops throughout the 757 to bring you the best of both worlds! Join us on the 1st Saturday of every month for a class on the Neptune’s Fury lawn in downtown NFK. Please RSVP so we can update you on weather changes and more! Parking info :: Just drive in to the garage through the entrance; the gate will lift once the system has scanned your license plate. Once inside Neptune’s Fury, there is a QR code that will add a discount for that park. Be sure you know your license plate and add it to the website after the discount is applied. Expect a killer lineup of curated vendors, ice-cold drinks from The Veil and Toast, food that slaps, and vibes that don’t quit. Stop by Burn Boot Camp for free training to sweat off the drinks.
