11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Ryan Resilience Lab 4610 Colley Ave, Norfolk, VA 23508, USA Price: Free

Are you curious about how we can live in harmony with nature and adapt to the challenges of climate change? Do you want to see how cutting-edge design and technology can create a resilient and sustainable urban coastal community? Do you want to learn more about the Elizabeth River Project and its vision for the future?

Join the Elizabeth River Project for a tour of our globally significant resilience model, the Ryan Resilience Lab. This state-of-the-art building showcases how we can protect both the ecosystem and humans as sea levels rise, incorporating replicable, environmentally sustainable design and construction.

  • Continuous rain gardens that filter stormwater runoff
  • Solar panels and batteries that aim for net-zero energy consumption
  • Floating entry pavilion that rises and falls with the tide
  • Living shoreline of restored wetlands, oysters, and native plants
  • River Room that hosts workshops, events, and exhibits
  • Toilets that flush with 100% harvested rainwater

The Ryan Resilience Lab is also the key anchor for the Eco-District, a collaborative effort to transform the northern part of Norfolk’s Colley Avenue near Knitting Mill Creek into an innovation corridor that fosters economic development, social equity, and environmental stewardship.

During the tour, you will get to see the inside and outside of the building, learn about its features and functions, and hear from our staff and volunteers about the organization’s work and goals.

The tours are free and open to the public, but space is limited and pre-registration is appreciated. Donations are always appreciated to support a healthy Elizabeth River. We look forward to seeing you soon!

If you cannot join us on our regular tour dates and times, or if you would like to arrange a special tour for your group, please reach out to Victoria Dunch at vdunch@elizabethriver.org.

Led by frontman Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother has spent over two decades building a global fanbase, playing to crowds worldwide and delivering sets at festivals like Coachella, Isle of Wight, Lollapalooza, Splendour in the Grass, Pinkpop, Rock en Seine, and Fuji Rock. They’ve also shared stages with rock heavyweights including AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, and the Sex Pistols. Not to mention, they were also personally invited to perform at Led Zeppelin’s induction into the UK Music Hall of Fame. Released in 2006, Wolfmother went on to become certified Gold in the USA, Germany, and Canada, and 5x Platinum in Australia. The album’s breakout single, “Woman”, hit the top ten on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks Chart and won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance. Following the success of their debut, Stockdale went on to release five more albums with Wolfmother – Cosmic Egg, New Crown, Victorious, Rock’n’Roll Baby and Rock Out – as well as two solo records, Keep Moving and Slipstream. Stockdale also collaborated with Slash on By the Sword and in 2019 with Chris Cester of Jet on Chase the Feeling. Now, with major European and UK tours behind him, Wolfmother are gearing up to celebrate 20 years of their iconic debut album with this special Stateside tour, where they’ll perform the hit record in full.

Iration + Tribal Seeds at The NorVa

May 24 2026

11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
The NorVa 317 Monticello Ave, Norfolk, VA 23510 Price: Price may vary
Iration has a natural affinity for reggae and island sounds. Their love and appreciation for music spans across a wide range of styles and genres including rock, pop, R&B and funk. Over the past 15 years, the celebrated five-piece – Micah Pueschel [Lead Vocals / Guitar], Adam Taylor [Bass], Joe Dickens [Drums], Cayson Peterson [Keyboard / Synth] and Micah Brown [Guitar / Vocals] – have perfected their distinct hybrid style of music, blending all influences together as evidenced on their seventh, and most recent, full-length album Coastin’ [Three Prong Records). A record about being thankful for the moments that we have.
Iration has been touring nationally since 2008, performing at festivals nationwide from Lollapalooza to Sunfest and Hangout, closing stages at festivals like Bottlerock and Outside Lands. The Hawaiian-bred musicians look forward to spreading their original sound and ‘Aloha spirit’ all the while never forgetting to get a surf in when possible.

Iron & Wine at The NorVa

May 15 2026

11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
The NorVa 317 Monticello Ave, Norfolk, VA 23510 Price: Price may vary

Iron & Wine is the musical project of singer-songwriter Sam Beam. Born and raised in South Carolina, Beam is a former film professor who got his start making home recordings before landing on Sub Pop Records. Iron & Wine’s 2002 debut, The Creek Drank the Cradle garnered both critical and popular acclaim, vaulting Beam into the spotlight of the burgeoning indie- folk/Americana scene as one of its new and leading voices. For over 20 years, Iron & Wine has captured the emotion and imagination of listeners with distinctly cinematic songs. His recorded output includes seven full-length studio records, collaborations with Calexico, Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), and Jesca Hoop, countless EP’s, singles and compilation/soundtrack appearances, a live concert documentary, and five GRAMMY nominations. Iron & Wine’s latest record, Light Verse was released in April 2024 with Paste Magazine noting “… Beam returns with an expanded sonic palette while also rekindling the bright spark that made 2007’s The Shepherd’s Dog so magical.”
