Lindsey Webster

June 13 2026

8:00 p.m.
Attucks Theatre 1010 Church St, Norfolk, VA 23510 (757) 664-6464 Price: $70-$113

Singer and songwriter Lindsey Webster straddles the world of jazz, R&B, and pop, all delivered with a voice that combines beauty of tone with an impressive range. In just a few years in the onset of her career, she has achieved a remarkable track record: two #1’s and seven Top 10’s on the Billboard contemporary jazz chart—the first vocalist to garner a #1 on that chart since Sade.

If Sade were to take over Mariah Carey’s body and sing to tracks written by Steely Dan, the combination might hit somewhere close to Lindsey Webster’s sound. Until that happens, though, there will just be Lindsey. Woodstock, NY, Lindsey’s native town, might also have had something to do with her powerhouse’s lyrics, style, and down-to-earth attitude.

From the first note, Lindsey Webster captivates listeners. Her rich, soulful voice enchants a dedicated following who connect with the raw emotion she shares with them. As a soul R&B artist, she combines an admirable natural talent with a genuine, accessible stage presence.

In 2009, Lindsey met her partner, Keith Slattery, and started performing professionally. Together, with a band of world-class musicians, they’ve performed over 600 shows in venues including Bearsville Theater, Levon Helm Studios, Helsinki Hudson, Daryl’s House, The Falcon, The Lambs Club, Rockwood Music Hall, and the Red Lion.

Recording mostly original songs written by her and her collaborator pianist/bandleader Keith Slattery, Lindsey’s music conveys a smooth sultriness underpinned by genuine passion. Audiences at her concert dates nationally and internationally are wowed by her ability to put across a song without excessive showbiz gimmicks, but at key moments open up and soar to thrilling heights with a seemingly effortless ability to hit high notes. As such, she occupies a special artistic lane occupied by a relatively small handful of iconic performers such as Angela Bofill, Anita Baker, Will Downing, Sade, and Maysa. Lindsey brings her distinct Smooth Jazz Style infused with Soul R&B, continuing to make music that resonates with her fans.

Jonathan Richman at Attucks Theatre

March 19 2026

8:00 p.m.
Attucks Theatre 1010 Church St, Norfolk, VA 23510 (757) 664-6464 Price: $37-$64

“Richman is one of America’s most unique and dynamic songwriters…” – Nashville Scene

“Richman didn’t need much else besides a beat to work his magic.” – New York Daily News

“Buy tickets early. Buy tickets often. This is just good general life advice, but even more so when you’re talking about Jonathan Richman. Don’t get denied at the door, don’t leave things up to chance: You will regret it.” – Nashville Scene

“Rhymes worthy of Ogden Nash.” – The New York Times

“The music we’re doing now works well in quiet places like theaters and performing art centers. We still don’t use a program or a set list, so we don’t know what we’ll do until we do it. Please do not expect old songs. Many singers my age do a retrospective; this show is not like that. It’s mostly stuff made up in the last 3 and 4 years. Some of the songs presented might be in different languages; this is not to be esoteric or clever, it’s because the different languages help me express different feelings sometimes. One last thing, my idea of a good show has nothing to do with applause. It’s about if all the songs I sang that night were ones that I felt.” – Jonathan Richman

SGGL started at the University of Virginia in 1983 when Rusty Speidel, Tom Goodrich, and Michael Goggin formed SGG. In the mid-80’s, Michael Goggin left the band to attend law school and was replaced by Michael Lille. SGL played the Mid-Atlantic college circuit for several years and after a brief hiatus, the band reformed (both Michaels included) as SGGL. Through 35 years together band members have maintained successful recording and touring careers while balancing solo projects, families and –ugh — jobs.

Jay Webb
Bury Me With Bourbon Tour
Doors 7pm // Music 8pm
All Ages
Country artist Jay Webb writes songs that hit like a gut punch. He grew up bouncing between the backroads of North Alabama and the city in South Alabama, using music to make sense of the chaos around him. What started as a way to process a turbulent childhood quickly became his purpose–-gritty storytelling layered over genre-blurring beats, delivered with zero filter. He began recording demos in high school and never let up, releasing track after track on his own and building a following from the ground up. His lyrics cut deep, his voice carries the scars and his sound refuses to stay in one lane. Webb doesn’t try to clean up the mess–he leans into it, and has a goodtime doing it.
The genre-blurring artist pulls from a wide range of influences, pairing the weight of Johnny Cash and Hank Williams with the edge of Juice WRLD and Post Malone. It’s not traditional country, and he doesn’t want it to be. He calls it “music for real people with real problems” and his fans know exactly what that means. In 2022, a viral TikTok launched his music to a wider audience and since then he’s racked up more than 415M streams with a growing legion of fans over 2M strong. With standout tracks like “Down Here,” “Bury Me With Bourbon” and “Love Me Tonight,”–which led into his debut album “Where To Find Me”–Webb is charging forward and the numbers prove people are listening.

Chris Knight makes music that delivers the unflinching truth. “If I
can’t believe myself, I won’t sing the song,” he says. That brutally honest, no-frills philosophy fits his Americana-fueled,
backwoods-grown merger of folk, country, and rock. It’s been at the
backbone of nine studio albums, beginning with 1998’s acclaimed
self-titled debut and traveling through scorchers such as the one-two
punch of 2001’s A Pretty Good Guy and 2003’s The Jealous Kind, two
demo-styled discs (2007’s The Trailer Tapes and 2009’s Trailer II), and
the recent, electric guitar-fortified opus, 2019’s Almost Daylight.

The New York Times called him “the last of a dying breed…a taciturn
loner with an acoustic guitar and a college degree.” USA Today raves
that he’s “a storyteller in the best traditions of Mellencamp and
Springsteen.”
