Fairy & Gnome Summer Homes

Make the perfect miniature summer home for the fairies and gnomes in your garden! Each fairy garden includes an air plant! Recommended for ages 5+ with some chaperone assistance. Due to the use of small decorative items for the fairy gardens, it is recommended that no children under 5 years old participate. All attending adults and children are required to have a registered ticket.

Price for NBG Members: $16/child. Adult members may attend for free with a registered child.

Price for Not-yet Members: $24/child and $18/adult. Tickets for class must be purchased for both children and adults and includes daytime admission to NBG.

Children under 3 years old are not required to have a ticket; however, a ticket must be registered if children under 3 years old are participating in the program.

The 10th Annual NEON Festival returns to NFK Thursday, October 16 and Friday, October 17, 2025 for a pumped up ten-year anniversary celebration.

Presented by Arts Alliance and PRA Group, this free festival welcomes everyone to experience the NEON District through art exhibitions, local and regional performances, mural tours and programming unique to Norfolk’s first arts neighborhood.

The 2025 celebration includes:

Glass After Dark, live demos, make & takes, live music and more at the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio Thursday evening

"Back to Basics" Watercolor Workshop

If you have ever wanted to learn to paint with watercolors or you’d like to brush up on some fundamentals, this is the class for you! You’ll learn about supplies and materials as well as the different kinds of brushes and how to use them. Paper options and what may be best for you will also be discussed. You’ll also learn about brush techniques and how to control pigment and water through several exercises that will build your skills and give you confidence. Those skills will be used to create a beautiful piece and have fun learning the process of watercolor.

This class is for beginners or anyone who would like to review the fundamentals of watercolors!
